Never, Ever Give Up. Arthur’s Inspirational Transformation!

Arthur Boorman was a disabled veteran of the Gulf War for 15 years, and was told by his doctors that he would never be able to walk on his own, ever again.

His story is proof, that we cannot place limits on what we are capable of doing, because we often do not know our own potential. In less than a year, Arthur completely transformed his life. If only he had known what he was capable of, 15 years earlier.

Do not waste any time thinking you are stuck - you can take control over your life, and change it faster than you might think.

Hopefully this story can inspire you to follow your dreams - whatever they may be. Anything is Possible!

The Alison McWeeny Story

She lost a leg in a boating accident on a July 4th vacation trip with friends. Her leg was amputated below the knee. That’s bad enough, but before the accident she was a competitive powerlifter.

Most people will try to find any reason to stop pursuing their goals. They have the case of the “I don’t wannas” or “There’s not enough time” or even “It’s too hard”.

Do you think Alison ever gives those kind of excuses?

Don’t let obstacles stop you from doing what you love or achieving your goals. You have to break down those barriers and overcome the adversity placed before you. You are as tough as you allow yourself to be.

This is motivation. This is Alison McWeeny’s story.

Challenges

In each challenge is great opportunity. So step forward, meet the challenge, work persistently through it, and make the opportunity yours.

It’s difficult, complicated, inconvenient, and demanding. And you are wonderfully able to deal with all that, to create a valuable outcome.

There are plenty of excuses you could make, and yet you know the excuses have no real value. There will be times when you feel like quitting, and yet in every case you know you can overcome the desire to quit with your positive enthusiasm for seeing it through.

You’ve successfully endured every challenge in your life so far, and you certainly have what it takes to successfully take on even bigger challenges. You are able to make a difference, and the more you make use of that ability, the stronger it grows.

Though many things will go wrong, you know from experience that even in adversity there is much value to be gained. Each obstacle makes the eventual achievement all the more rewarding.

You’re good at dealing with challenges, so put that ability to meaningful and rewarding use. Step forward, meet the challenges that lead to your dreams, and bring those dreams to life.

Whom or What is your fitness inspiration?

A lot of my inspiration in fitness and philosophy comes from Bruce Lee.

Martial artist. Philosopher. Bodybuilder. Nutritionist. Teacher. Actor.

My biggest pull from him comes from his teachings to never limit oneself. He taught that the only limitations that can ever hold you back are those that you place on yourself or allow to be placed on you by others. I do not try to emulate exactly what he was and forever will be, but I do try to embody some of his mental prowess.

“If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”

His fitness and physique were something to be marveled. His knowledge was well beyond it’s years. His training was unmatched. There was not a person who was more dedicated to understanding themselves more so than Bruce Lee. This enabled him to take what he was further than even he had imagined. In my humble opinion I firmly believe that he helped shape the world of bodybuilding, martial arts, training and fitness philosophy into what it is today.

So, I am asking all of you reading this right now..

3 Things I Learned While My Plane Crashed

Ric Elias had a front-row seat on Flight 1549, the plane that crash-landed in the Hudson River in New York in January 2009. What went through his mind as the doomed plane went down? At TED, he tells his story publicly for the first time.

“How would you change? What would you get done that you’re waiting to get done because you think you’ll be here forever? How would you change your relationships?”

Thank you to artytoofly for sending me this video.

You can do anything.

I don’t know you. I don’t know a thing about you. I don’t know where you come from, where you’re going, or why you do what you do. I don’t know if we’d get along if we met. But there is one there is one thing that I do know: You are capable of much more than you have been led to believe.

As I am writing this, there are 6.7 billion people walking and breathing on our humble rock. The overwhelming, vast majority of them will pass through their 720,000 hours like a match struck in the wind. Hardly noticed, scarcely remembered.

Tomorrow. as you got about your day, take your time to look around. Are there a lot of people around? What do you see? You see mediocrity. You see average. You see everything about yourself that you hate, that you fear, but that you have been conditioned to believe is acceptable. Fine. Enough. A good job.

I’m here to tell you that you will NOT settle for what is fine. You will NOT settle for a good job. Fine is for the loser. Fine is for the person who skipped the last set of his workout because they just didn’t feel like it. Fine is for the person who cheated on their diet (this goes for you too, you skinny ass) because they just couldn’t do it anymore. Fine is for the person who took a nap instead of sprinting around town in a torrential downpour. Fine is for the person who got the job, but not the one they wanted. That person made second place. They have never embraced pain, personal sacrifice, or thrown themselves into the fires of dedication. Most importantly, and starting today, this person is NOT YOU.

You are not them. You are destined for greatness. You have it inside of you, and you know it. You have always known it, you have felt it as a faint thumping in your gut. It is clawing, scratching, struggling to be set free. It needs your help. As long as you hold yourself to the standard of “average,” that is all you will ever be. In your dreams you aren’t average, so why the hell are you settling for it now? What are you not doing right now? What is eating at the back of your skull? Go do IT. You know what it is, soldier. The time to act is now. You will burn. You will suffer. Your demons will not be defeated easily. Every step of the way they will whisper in your ear that you aren’t good enough. That you aren’t meant to succeed. “Just give up,” they will mutter, “you’ll never be the best.” “NO,” you will reply. You will embrace suffering. You will finish that last repetition. You will claw through the agonizing pain, you will destroy the mediocre person in your head, you will break boundaries. You will rise above the rest. You will realize your potential.

You are no average person. Now go do what you were destined to do. End of story.
